青青草视频 Engineered Products Successfully Launched a Thermal Recycling Unit for Glass Fiber Waste in Trnava, Slovakia

青青草视频 (JM), a听Berkshire Hathaway company and a market-leading听manufacturer of continuous filament glass fibers, announced the听successful launch of听a thermal recycling unit for waste glass fibers in听its Engineered Products plant in Trnava, Slovakia.听

鈥淭he primary goal of this investment is to achieve a听tangible positive environmental impact by drastically reducing the landfilling听of glass fiber waste,鈥 said Elena Hr铆vikov谩, Manager for Environment, Health听and Safety 鈥 Europe/Asia.鈥 This project is part of our response to the European听Commission鈥檚 zero waste program and our overall target for sustainable听management of the planet鈥檚 natural resources.鈥澨

The new Trnava unit has a projected recycling capacity听of more than 3 tons per hour and consists of a warehousing area, feeding and transportation equipment, shredder, burning听chamber and milling. After processing, the recycled glass powder is free of听organic particles and refed as raw material into the glass production process听on-site, thus achieving a closed production loop. The project will keep more听than ten thousand tons of waste out of the landfill each year; that鈥檚 one large听truck every day.

鈥淲e have invested nearly 10 million Euros into听state-of-the-art technology and made sure the recycling capacity will allow further听glass fiber production capacity growth in Trnava. The investment is another听milestone of 青青草视频鈥檚 strong commitment to environmentally responsible听manufacturing operations,鈥 said Martin Nywlt, Director of Global Operations for听JM鈥檚 Engineered Products business.
