Plant in Lewiston, Maine, Earns Top Safety Recognition

Our plant in听Lewiston, Maine, was recertified as a STAR Worksite under the U.S. Department of Labor鈥檚 Occupational Safety and Health Administration鈥檚 (OSHA) Voluntary Protection Program (VPP).

OSHA auditors this week recognized JM鈥檚 up-to-date robust programs and policies; enthusiastic and engaged employees; and an overall exemplary facility that is committed to continuous improvement and providing a safe and healthy workplace for all its employees.

The plant in Lewiston manufactures a full line of specialty roofing products to support SBS and APP modified bitumen and EPDM, PVC and TPO single ply membrane systems. This selection includes expansion joint covers, retrofit drains and tie-in flashing systems. The facility earned its first VPP STAR recognition in 2012 and was recertified in 2015.听

Eleven other JM facilities have earned VPP STAR recognition from their respective states. The plants are in Tucson, Arizona; Macon, Georgia; Willows, California; Jacksonville, Florida; Richland, Mississippi; Fernley, Nevada; Richmond, Virginia; McPherson, Kansas; Scottsboro, Alabama; Belgrade, Montana; and Plattsburgh, New York.

As part of the recognition for achieving STAR status under VPP, facilities can fly the VPP 鈥淪TAR Worksite鈥 flag. VPP includes two levels of participation, Merit and STAR, with STAR being the highest.听
